It is possible to restore Sega 32X, Sega Master System, Game Genie, and Virtua Racing compatibility for the “VA1” Genesis 3.
To restore functionality the cartridge port pins need wiring to the SEGA 315-5960 pins as per the table below.

It is possible to restore Game Genie and Virtua Racing compatibility for the VA2 Genesis 3.
To restore functionality the cartridge port pins need wiring to the SEGA 315-6123 pins as per the table below. Cartridge port pins B11 and B26 also need wiring together.
